At its heart, employee ownership means that the people who make a business thrive are the ones who hold a stake in its success. Rather than external shareholders, ownership lies in the hands of our Co-Owners who show up every day with energy, expertise, and enthusiasm.
Now in our third year of employee ownership, we’ve learned that being employee-owned is certainly not a bulletproof vest; it’s a mindset, a culture, and a responsibility. It means transparency, accountability, and a collective drive to do better. It also means acknowledging the challenges: things that are working well, and things we still want to improve.
We spoke with our Managing Director, George Foden, and our Founder, David Wise, about employee ownership at Wise. Their reflections were honest, thoughtful, and hopeful — you can catch the full conversation over on our social channels!
This year’s EO theme, “EO Smile,” captures the emotional essence of what employee ownership delivers. It’s not just about joy — it’s about pride, connection, and the satisfaction that comes from knowing your contribution matters.
At Wise Productions, the “EO Smile” is more than a metaphor. You can see it:
Wise Productions has always been about connection — crafting experiences that live beyond lights, sound, and staging. Being employee-owned amplifies that mission. It grounds us in shared values while pushing us to evolve.
We’re proud of what we’ve built — and honest about what we still want to do better. Ownership here means caring deeply: about the work, about each other, and about the journey ahead.
So this EO Day, we smile because we’re invested. Because our contributions count. Because we’re trying, learning, improving — together.
And because at Wise, employee-ownership isn’t just a structure. It’s a mindset.
