International Women’s Day is a day to honour the strength, achievements, and diversity of womanhood in all its glory—from corporate leaders and entrepreneurs to creators, mentors, and everything in between. At Wise, we took this opportunity to celebrate the incredible women in our company who continue to break barriers, inspire one another, and contribute to our company’s success. This year, we asked just some of our incredible Wise women to share their greatest career achievements, advice to their younger selves, and the fellow Wise woman who inspires them.
What has been your greatest achievement at Wise so far?

Abby Sammons, Marketing & Partnerships Manager
“My greatest achievement at Wise so far would have to be supporting the rebrand we did last year and the launch of our new website and brand identity.”

Yasmin Ghosh-Roy, Head of People and Business Operations
“Introducing a new HR process, specifically the new recruitment process. So leading the process all the way through from recruitment, induction, and eventually to offboarding.”

Mathilde Davidson, Lighting Technician
“I used to work in the warehouse and have worked my way up to the lighting department, so my biggest achievement would be being on site and knowing what I am doing confidently, solving problems and just getting things done!”

Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give to your younger self?

Lizzie O’Hara, Director of Events
“Buckle up! The events industry is a crazy one, it’s long hours and it can be hard. But if you graft and put in the work it’s going to be alright, and you are going to meet some incredible people along the way.”

Abbi Warburton, Project Manager
“I feel like I am still learning this, but I would definitely say believing in myself. Growing up I struggled with self-confidence and now I am learning to become more and more confident so I’d definitely tell my younger self not to overthink as much because actually, YOU’VE GOT THIS!”

Claudia Rister, Executive Assistant
“Don’t be afraid to ask for feedback—that’s how you learn and grow.”

Out of all the fabulous women at Wise, who inspires you the most, and why?

Abby Sammons, Marketing & Partnerships Manager
“We are very lucky to have lots of inspirational women at Wise who I’m inspired by every day! I’m always proud that we have an all female Marketing & Partnerships team – so I’d have to go with my colleagues Carmen, Jade and Marie for being the best cheerleaders and supporters.”

Carmen Stevens, Interim Director of Marketing & Partnerships
“For me, it’s all the fellow Wise mums. When you work in the world of events which involves a lot of early mornings and late nights, the juggle around being present for clients, fellow co-owners, family and children is a challenge and can feel like a series of never-ending trade-offs. I always admire how the Wise mums bring energy and smart minds, even though they’ve lived a whole day before they’ve rocked up to a client meeting, and then use what little they have left in the tank to race home to create precious moments with their little ones before bedtime.”

Mathilde, Lighting Technician
“Eden, who is our Senior Crew and Transport Coordinator because she brings positive energy to everything she does, and she copes brilliantly stressful situations.”

Claudia, Executive Assistant
“Lizzie is my biggest Wise inspiration – she is the ultimate Wise girl, has a wealth of experience and knowledge and brings the best most positive vibes to the team!”

We love celebrating International Women’s Day, but at Wise, we see women doing amazing things every day. We’re so lucky to have talented women on our team who inspire us with their creativity, leadership, and hard work. Today, let’s celebrate their journeys and everything they do for our industry and beyond!

Happy International Women’s Day!
